With its Backup Box, technology company Atmoce is introducing a solution that retrofits three-phase emergency power to existing solar systems. Paired with the M-ELV battery storage unit, the box operates independently of the existing inverter and switches between grid and backup mode in under ten milliseconds.

Sonnenkraft, based in St. Veit an der Glan, is launching a solar module built on back-contact cell technology. All electrical contacts sit on the rear of the cell, leaving the front free of conductor tracks and making the entire cell surface available for light absorption.
The new Sunenergyxt 500 bundles photovoltaics, dynamic electricity tariffs and off-grid operation into a single unit. Two variants are available: a plug-and-play version with 800 W output and the Pro variant with 2.4 kW AC output for professional installation.
Zinco has developed a solar system that retrofits to existing green roofs. Installation calls for an intact roof seal and a structural assessment to confirm that the roof can bear the additional weight of the solar array. The system builds on the manufacturer's standard base frames. (nhp)
