Uniper is shaping the energy transition with solar and wind power

The climate change and the recent global energy crises underscore the urgent need to restructure the energy industry. The demand for green electricity is growing in line with the energy transition, as industrial processes, heat generation and transportation are increasingly being electrified. To achieve both key objectives of attaining climate protection goals and becoming independent of fossil fuel imports, the share of renewable energies in gross electricity consumption needs to increase drastically across the globe.

Uniper aims to close the critical gap in the energy transition by offering flexible, low-carbon power, targeting 80% of its generation portfolio to be green by 2030. For this, Uniper will be investing eight billion euros in the transformation by 2030 and is committed to accelerating the expansion of renewable energies. Alongside other areas, the Renewables department is also at the forefront of this transformation. A dedicated team of over 100 employees is working globally to meet this objective. They take all aspects of the value chain into account. These cover project development and construction, right up to the operation and marketing of renewable plants.
