LONGi has secured Tier 1 status for both photovoltaic modules and energy storage in BloombergNEF’s Q1 2026 manufacturer rankings, marking its entry into the storage category alongside an established position in modules. The dual listing reflects a broader shift towards integrated solar and storage portfolios.
KEY 2026 – Longi and JA Solar step up European storage push
BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 classification is a key reference for project bankability. It is based on the use of a manufacturer’s products in projects that have secured bank-backed project finance from commercial lenders, alongside requirements for independent manufacturing and branded product sales. In storage, eligibility depends on demonstrated deployment, emphasising the importance of a solid project track record.
LONGi introduced its commercial and industrial storage portfolio to the European market in March 2026, with initial launches in Poland and the Netherlands. The OmniCube and Flexi familes of products target increasingly common applications such as peak shaving, load shifting and backup power.
Longi – a road map to ongoing innovation
The new systems incorporate LONGi’s Intelligent Cell Connection System (iCCS), which enables cell-level monitoring and reduces internal wiring complexity by up to 80 percent. The design forms part of a multi-layer safety architecture aimed at early fault detection and prevention of thermal propagation, both of which are critical for reliability in industrial-scale deployment.
