Sweden – 5 MW solar park boosts municipal energy

Tekniska verken delivers solutions in electricity, water, district heating, waste management, broadband and biogas. Solar parks such as this play a central role in advancing the company’s sustainability goals. The Linköping area also benefits from strong solar irradiation, making it well suited for PV installations.

Swedish grid remains stable amid growth in wind and solar

In developing the new solar parks, Tekniska verken follows a series of guiding principles: projects should remain small-scale, ideally no larger than five hectares, integrate smoothly into the landscape and be sited on land not used for food production.

“We have a clear ambition to invest in renewable electricity generation, and solar energy is undoubtedly a growing energy source for a sustainable, resilient society. Its unique advantages are scalability, flexibility and the fact that it leaves no residues. With our new solar park, we are expanding access to fossil-free electricity in the region and taking another step towards a resource-efficient society for the future,” says Johan Sääf, project developer solar power at Tekniska verken.
