Econergy activates 52 MW Resko project with Apple vPPA

Ownership of the project is split between Econergy UK, which is 75.24 percent owned by Econergy Renewable Energy Ltd. and holds a 51 percent stake, and Phoenix Insurance Company Ltd., which owns the remaining 49 percent. The plant began commercial operations in December 2025.

Apple Inc. has signed a virtual power purchase agreement under which it will purchase around 75 percent of the project’s electricity output at a fixed price for 19 years from the start of commercial operations. The remaining 25 percent of the generated electricity is sold on the wholesale market at prevailing prices.

DSO licence extends beyond Resko site

Econergy UK has also received a distribution system operator licence from the Polish energy regulator URE, providing greater flexibility to develop and connect future projects in Poland by utilising the grid infrastructure at the Resko site.

CEO Eyal Podhorzer said the company is pleased to have reached the grid connection milestone for the Resko project in Poland and confirmed that the solar plant is now operational. The long-term vPPA with Apple underscores growing demand for solar energy and reinforces its role as a sound business strategy. With the DSO licence in place, Econergy aims to expand its footprint in Poland and maintain strong growth momentum through 2026. (mg)
