Australia’s utility-scale solar sector continues to attract European technology suppliers as projects move from development into construction and grid integration. One recent example is the Aldoga solar farm in Queensland, where Spanish technology provider Ingeteam is supplying inverter stations and plant control systems for a 480 MW photovoltaic installation.

The project is being developed by Acciona Energía and forms part of a broader pipeline of large-scale solar plants under construction across Australia, where grid compliance and plant-level control are becoming increasingly important for developers and operators. Alongside Ingeteam, European suppliers such as SMA Solar Technology and Fronius have also established a foothold in Australia’s expanding solar market.
At Aldoga, Ingeteam is delivering 81 power stations equipped with 157 central photovoltaic inverters from its INGECON SUN 3Power C Series. Each station integrates low- and medium-voltage equipment delivered as a pre-assembled system designed for utility-scale solar plants. This most recent project adds to more than 5 GW of solar, energy storage and green hydrogen projects in Australia where Ingeteam has supplied technology.

The company is also supplying its Power Plant Controller (PPC), which manages plant operation and supports compliance with grid connection requirements. Ingeteam contributed simulation models during the development phase to support grid studies and system integration.
Australia has become a key market for the Basque technology company, which has operated a local subsidiary for more than ten years and, by its own account, holds around 25 percent of the inverter market for large-scale projects. (TF)
