The upgrade responds to the higher current levels of modern solar modules, which increasingly deliver between 14 and 15 amperes. The performance boost comes via an automatic update rolled out to all devices, free of charge and requiring no action from installers or end users.
According to Kostal, raising the maximum input current to 15 amperes improves overall system efficiency across the generator, Plenticore Plus G2 and high-voltage battery. The inverter directs electricity more efficiently into the connected battery, reducing charging times and increasing usable energy. Discharge performance is also optimised, with energy from the battery fed into the household grid at higher power, for example when running several large appliances or charging an electric vehicle.
