New Varta system pairs outdoor design with bidirectional charging

The modules are designed for space-saving installation, for example behind a door, and connect without external cabling, simplifying setup. Storage capacity can be expanded from 9 to 13.5 kWh or 18 kWh within two years of commissioning. Charging and discharging power scales with the number of modules, ranging from 4.7 to 9.3 kW.

With the new Varta IQ energy management system, the company enables control and optimisation of household energy flows. The platform monitors, analyses and adjusts all relevant streams in real time and is compatible with wallboxes, heat pumps, relays and other connected devices.

Users gain access to transparent visualisation tools, can take advantage of dynamic electricity tariffs as well as tailor battery operation based on weather data, solar generation and consumption forecasts. According to Varta, all data is processed on servers in Germany in compliance with applicable data protection regulations. In the optional Pro version, Varta IQ extends functionality to include bidirectional charging and peak shaving, among other features. (nhp)
