European Energy grows in Denmark with 207 MW solar park

From 1 January 2026, European Energy will take over operation of the Gedmose solar park, owned by Heartland A/S. Connected to the grid in 2021, it was then Northern Europe’s largest solar facility, with a capacity of 207 MW. This will be the first time European Energy has taken on operational responsibility for a solar park it neither developed nor owns.

With the new agreement, the company is expanding its operational and asset‑management services in renewables. European Energy currently oversees around 4 GW of renewable‑energy capacity under operation and asset management.

“A key part of our strategic shift in asset management has been offering our services to third‑party owners, not only to the parks we develop ourselves. In recent years, we have developed new technological solutions that enable us to optimise electricity production at lower cost. Our ambition is for asset management to become a significant revenue driver for the company,” said Jacob Saust Jacobsen , EVP Asset Management and Operations at European Energy. (hcn)
