Around 100 guests attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Solar Fabrik’s new Factory One in Hösbach near Aschaffenburg. “While established companies are discontinuing their production in Germany, we believe in the location,” said CEO and owner Christian Laibacher, reaffirming the company’s commitment to domestic manufacturing.

Series production is scheduled to begin in autumn 2025. Solar Fabrik plans to implement a multi-stage approach to German production. “This will enable us to respond to market demand and adjust production volumes accordingly,” explains Laibacher. Depending on market conditions, output can be scaled up to one gigawatt. The company has financed the initial investment of around six million euros from its own resources – without government subsidies.

In each of the past two years, Solar Fabrik has produced around 750 megawatts of solar modules in Asia – a volume that will continue to be manufactured there. “We are looking forward to a positive future and are planning to produce over one gigawatt by 2025,” says Solar Fabrik’s CEO. (nhp/hcn)
