Solar Fabrik back‑contact design boosts low‑light performance

The back‑contact design leaves the front of the cell unobstructed, allowing greater light absorption. This reduces reflection losses and increases power output. Reported degradation rates are low, and under optimal conditions yields up to 30 percent higher are possible. A cell‑level bypass diode ensures unshaded cell areas continue operating under partial shading, making the module well suited for roofs with chimneys, dormers or trees.

According to Solar Fabrik, the combination of an unobstructed cell front, optimised anti‑reflective coating and back‑contact technology improves performance in low‑light conditions. The glass‑glass design further enhances durability. The module meets hail protection class 4, withstands snow loads up to 5,400 pascals and is resistant to salt mist and ammonia. (nhp)
