Suntech Expands High-Efficiency Module Portfolio with Quarter-Cut Technology

As solar markets place increasing focus on long-term performance, reliability and project bankability, demand is growing for technologies that combine high efficiency with independently verified quality.

Against this backdrop, Suntechs Ultra T 3.0 quarter-cut module series has obtained IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 certification from TÜV Rheinland. The certification confirms compliance with internationally recognised standards covering performance, safety, durability and environmental adaptability, while reinforcing the market readiness of Suntechs latest quarter-cut technology.

For developers and investors, third-party certification remains an important indicator when assessing long-term project value and module reliability.

Enhanced Conversion Efficiency

The Ultra T 3.0 series is based on Suntechs quarter-cut cell design, developed to improve module efficiency through electrical optimisation.

By lowering operating current at cell level, the architecture helps reduce resistive losses and supports stable power generation. Lower current flow also contributes to improved thermal behaviour, reducing hotspot risk and supporting performance under partial shading, higher temperatures and complex installation environments.

Greater Power Density

With rooftop space limitations and land-use efficiency becoming increasingly important, module power density is gaining relevance across both commercial and utility-scale projects.

Suntechs quarter-cut layout increases the effective active area within the same module footprint, allowing higher installed capacity in limited space. Advanced cutting processes and precision edge passivation also help reduce cell stress and minimise defect risk.

Optimised Lifetime Energy Yield

Built on Suntechs TOPCon 3.0 cell technology, the Ultra T 3.0 series delivers cell efficiency of more than 27.5%, bifaciality of up to 90%, first-year degradation of 1%, and annual degradation as low as 0.35%.

These characteristics support predictable long-term energy generation and lower levelised cost of electricity over the project lifecycle.

Proven Experience

Suntech has more than 25 years of photovoltaic manufacturing experience and a global installed base across multiple markets.

The TÜV Rheinland certification of the Ultra T 3.0 series reflects the companys continued focus on certified product quality, manufacturing consistency and technology development as global standards for solar projects continue to rise.

As the industry moves toward higher standards of quality and accountability, Suntech continues to transform advanced engineering into bankable solar performance worldwide.
