Oxford PV recognised for advancing perovskite-silicon solar

Oxford PV has been named to the 2026 Global Cleantech 100, highlighting growing investor and industry attention on perovskite-silicon tandem technology as a route to higher PV efficiency and lower emissions. In contrast to conventional silicon modules, Oxford PV’s tandem design pairs silicon with a perovskite layer, boosting power output by at least 20 percent and opening up new opportunities to reduce operational costs and carbon footprint.

Expert view – how perovskite can overcome durability concerns

The company, which is headquartered in the UK with manufacturing in Germany, is at the forefront of commercialising the upcoming generation of advanced modules. Recognition in the Cleantech 100 reflects a broader market trend: investors and asset owners are increasingly backing innovations that address both performance and sustainability metrics.

Oxford PV’s tandem technology is already demonstrating tangible results, with commercial modules delivering at least 20 percent more power than conventional silicon. (TF)
