Bifacial PV modules:

IBC Solar cooperates with Jolywood

As a result of the cooperation, IBC Solar is expanding its portfolio by two bifacial high-performance modules with 380 and 560 watts of power: In Europe, the Jolywood Niwa JW-HD120N can now be ordered through IBC Solar. It is suitable both for residential and commercial applications. The high-performance JW-HD144N is specifically designed for the project sector.

Along with n-type TOPCon solar cells, Jolywood also provides backsheet material. IBC Solar has been using Jolywood’s backsheets in its own modules for a long time.

Bifacial modules generate a better yield

Jolywood’s glass-glass modules offer a better temperature coefficient and a bifacial coefficient of 80 per cent. In other words, the rear side of the modules can achieve 80 per cent of the capacity of the front side. Modules that are active on both sides thus provide an increased energy yield. This makes them up to 25 per cent more profitable than conventional modules on the same surface, depending on the ground characteristics.

The Jolywood Niwa JW-HD120N is expected to be available to IBC Solar customers in Europe by end of September 2022. Customers have been able to pre-order it since the beginning of June. With excellent performance in weak light conditions, the module delivers high yields, even in low-light conditions on cloudy or foggy days. Thanks to a very low degradation of the n-type cells of only 0.40 percent, the modules are particularly durable. (mfo)
