PV Manager connects via the cloud interfaces of inverter manufacturers, removing the need for additional hardware or on-site installation. The solution was developed together with European utilities, including Switzerland's BKW. Users link their systems to the PV Manager portal via their OEM portal credentials, with the platform available either under the operator's own brand or as a Synergi-branded version.
The virtual power plant (VPP) technology bundles the connected installations into a single signal that can be controlled, dispatched and monitored with latencies of under a minute. Grid operators can also regulate PV generation by network area and at transformer level.
The platform currently supports inverters from SMA, Fronius and Huawei, with further integrations in development. Use cases include integration with other virtual power plants, trading, ramp control and curtailment during periods of negative electricity prices. (nhp)
