The Surgebox TN-S Compact is designed for applications that do not require a complete AC distributor with busbars, load-break switches or feed-in functionality, but where AC-side surge protection is needed separately and in ready-to-connect form.
The standard version is designed for TN-S networks at 230/400 V AC and is suitable for applications including building service connections, equipotential bonding, AC-side PV connection, wallboxes, heat pumps and building sub-distribution boards. A Type 1+2+3 combined arrester is integrated inside, limiting partial lightning currents and transient overvoltages on the AC side. The box does not replace an external lightning protection system on the building.

The technical specifications include a nominal voltage of 230 or 400 V AC, a lightning impulse current (Iimp) of 12.5 kA per pole, a maximum discharge current (Imax) of 50 kA per pole and a protection level (Up) of no more than 1.5 kV. It also includes pluggable protection modules, an optical status indicator, a prepared remote signalling contact and an integrated back-up fuse and disconnection unit. The polycarbonate housing with transparent cover features external mounting lugs, strain relief and internal wiring. The unit is designed for indoor use and for sheltered outdoor installation. (nhp)
