Trina’s robot crew takes on installation and cleaning

Guided by industrial 3D cameras and AI-based image processing, Trina’s Buildex robot can install up to 90 modules an hour. A fork-and-flip mechanism handles feeding automatically and allows the robot to install modules in landscape or portrait orientation. The height-adjustable chassis works with fixed mounting systems as well as one- and two-module-high portrait (1P and 2P) trackers, and the platform levels itself on slopes of up to 17 degrees. A LiDAR-based sensor system improves safety on site.

Aurora, the cleaning robot, can handle height differences of up to 50 mm, correcting its course as it goes, and plans its own routes using plant, tracker and environmental data. It runs on its own self-cleaning solar modules, so it can clean on a regular cycle without anyone having to step in. Its operating data flows into TrinaTracker’s digital platform, giving operators a single view of cleaning and tracker performance. (nhp)
