Poland – Dalkia ramps up PV and storage services

EDF subsidiary Dalkia Polska has acquired Edison Next Poland and Edison Next Services Poland and integrated them into its existing operations in Poland. The deal brings together district heating activities, industrial energy services and on-site renewables under the Dalkia brand, creating a broader platform for photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage projects in key industrial regions.

Dalkia Polska has been active in the Polish market since 2014. The company operates and develops district heating systems in the Silesia–Dąbrowa conurbation and offers industrial energy services supporting the energy transition in both industry and the heating sector.

Edison Next Poland and Edison Next Services Poland provide energy and environmental services for industrial clients. Their activities include the operation and maintenance of energy infrastructure, the implementation and financing of energy efficiency projects and the deployment of low-carbon technologies such as photovoltaic and storage systems alongside other renewable energy and decarbonisation solutions. The companies are active in locations including Tychy, Bielsko-Biała, Rzeszów, Krosno and Zawiercie.

Focus on industry

In the field of PV and energy storage, Dalkia focuses on designing and delivering systems as part of wider decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects. For industrial sites and large buildings, the company develops and engineers PV systems tailored to site-specific load profiles and existing energy infrastructure. Dalkia typically acts as general contractor, providing turnkey PV installations within energy performance or energy supply contracts and combining them with technologies such as combined heat and power, heat pumps and waste heat recovery.

Battery and thermal storage systems are integrated to increase self-consumption of on-site PV generation, reduce demand peaks and improve the flexibility of heat and power systems. In district heating and industrial process applications, Dalkia deploys heat and cold storage to make better use of renewable generation and waste heat. These solutions are embedded in long-term operation and maintenance contracts under which Dalkia manages energy infrastructure and guarantees defined efficiency or savings targets.

Integrated energy management and generation

Following the transaction, Dalkia Polska combines district heating operations with industrial energy services and on-site renewables under one brand. The enlarged group offers integrated solutions ranging from modernising existing networks and strategic investments in efficiency to engineering support and advisory services. For industrial customers, this includes bespoke PV and storage projects designed to reduce energy consumption and operating costs while supporting long-term sustainability targets.

Edison Next Poland’s portfolio includes the supply and optimisation of multiple energy vectors such as electricity, heat, gas, compressed air, cooling, process water and wastewater treatment, as well as PV and other renewable projects. Under the Dalkia brand, these capabilities are combined with existing district heating and industrial energy services, positioning the company as a single point of contact for decarbonisation projects in Poland’s industrial regions.

The integration of Edison Next Poland took place at the end of 2025 and expanded Dalkia Polska’s offering for industrial customers. (mg)
