Ingeteam supplies 216 MW for the largest PV project in South America

Enel Green Power Brasil Participações Ltda. is building the project in the municipality of São Gonçalo do Gurguéia, in the Brazilian state of Piauí. The São Gonçalo solar project already has 608 MW of solar power in operation, corresponding to the installation and commissioning of the first two phases. In this third phase, 256 MW are being installed.

Ingeteam also supplied PPC power plant controllers

For this third section of the São Gonçalo project, Ingeteam has supplied thirty 7.2 MW power stations, each containing four 1.8 MW solar inverters, power transformer, medium voltage switchgear, auxiliary services panel, auxiliary services transformer and UPS. Furthermore, Ingeteam has also supplied its PPC power plant controller for this PV project which is Enel's largest power generation plant under construction worldwide.

Stefano Domenicali, CEO and vice-president of Ingeteam's Italian subsidiary, stated that "we're really pleased with the trust that Enel has placed in our technology for this project which is so important for Brazil". He went on to add that "we hope to continue to work closely with Enel, given that, for us, this is a strategic customer that can open the doors in many other international markets".

Total output of 2,200 GWh yearly – bifacial panels

Ingeteam was recently awarded the maintenance contract for the 220 MW Magdalena II PV plant of Enel Green Power Mexico.

With regard to the São Gonçalo solar project, the third section is expected to come into operation in 2021, bringing the total power output of this photovoltaic complex to 2,200 GWh per year through the use of bifacial panels, avoiding the emission of 1.2 million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.
