The DLG will once again present its Energy Decentral Innovation Awards this year. All exhibitors at the trade fair for decentralised energy supply are eligible to apply for the sought-after prizes. Winners will be announced in the run-up to the fair and can look forward to a comprehensive Energy Decentral marketing package, providing additional visibility among visitors.
Photovoltaic and storage innovations welcome
The awards recognise pioneering and innovative developments in the energy sector with applications in agriculture. To qualify, innovations and products must fall within categories including biogas, biofuels, solar energy systems, decentralised energy technology, energy distribution and storage, and measurement, control and regulation technology. Services are not eligible. A further key requirement is that the product must have entered the market no more than twelve months before the start of this year's Energy Decentral.

Independent jury weighs the innovation
An independent jury of consultants, scientists, practitioners and specialist journalists selects the winners from among the applicants. A gold medal is awarded to products with a genuinely new concept. To qualify, the product's function must have changed significantly and its use must enable a new process.
A silver medal is awarded to established products that have been further developed in innovative ways. This development must substantially improve the product's function or make a new process possible. Products that do not win a medal but are judged sufficiently innovative are added to the Energy Decentral list of new products.
