EU to accelerate rise in price for greenhouse gases

-

The climate politicians of the European Union have reached an agreement: The EU is expanding emissions trading and making CO2 emissions chargeable sooner.

„CO2 compensation for our solar modules is another piece of the puzzle in Solarwatt's efforts to become completely sustainable," says CEO Detlef Neuhaus.
Sustainability:

Solarwatt offers CO2 compensation for solar modules

-

Solarwatt is offering CO2 compensation for solar modules. When purchasing glass-glass modules, Solarwatt customers have the opportunity to purchase certificates that support climate protection projects around the world.

Emissions:

Solarwatt helps EV drivers to sell greenhouse gas reduction certificates

-

Solarwatt supports the owners of fully electric vehicles and e-motorbikes to sell the so-called greenhouse gas reduction certificates to mineral oil companies. These need the GHG certificates to meet their legal CO2 targets.

Thanks to its hydropower plants, Axpo is well positioned to produce green hydrogen.
Green hydrogen:

Zimbabwe's largest tea producer implements microgrid from DHybrid and Blockpower

-

Tanganda Tea Company Limited, Zimbabwe's largest tea producer and one of the largest on the African continent, uses its own microgrids at Tingamira and Jersey sites for secure and environmentally friendly energy supply.

Fraunhofer ISE:

European glass-glass PV modules particularly climate-friendly

-

Researchers at the Fraunhofer ISE have calculated that silicon photovoltaic modules manufactured in the EU produce 40 per cent less CO2 emissions than modules manufactured in China. See here why that is the case:

Netherlands:

Amsterdam pushes electric buses

-

The VDL fleet of electric buses used in Amsterdam city transport, currently consisting of 31 electric Citeas, will be expanded to 75 vehicles.

The energy transition will require much larger volumes of power from renewable sources.
Ground-mounted solar:

Large land deal for ground-mounted PV capacity

-

Blue Elephant Energy has been able to sign a land deal over 300 hectares of ground in Germany for the operation of ground-mounted PV capacity worth more than 300 megawatts.

The building sector achieved 34 per cent reduction in emissions, but even that was not enough to achieve the targets set for 2020.
Climate protection:

Switzerland falls short of CO2 emissions targets

-

Switzerland has probably failed to meet its 2020 CO2 emissions targets in most areas. This is the result of initial estimates by the Federal Office for the Environment.

In the US state of Texas, Shell run oil wells on solar power. As nice as that is, it is not going to be enough for the climate.
Fossil fuels:
