Solarwatt helps EV drivers to sell greenhouse gas reduction certificates

Drivers of electric vehicles save CO2 and other greenhouse gases when using their vehicle. Therefore, each vehicle owner is allocated flat-rate GHG reduction quotas by the Federal Environment Agency. If the certificates are not sold by the vehicle owners themselves, this is taken over by customs and the premium accrues to the German state.

Flat rate of 300 euros per year from Solarwatt

Solarwatt works together with the service provider eQuota for the sale. The GHG premium is then paid directly to the vehicle owners. "Since it would be very complicated for electric vehicle owners to negotiate directly with a petroleum company about the sale of the certificates, we now offer this as an additional service. Through us, every vehicle owner receives a lump sum of 300 euros per year - whether they are a Solarwatt customer or not," explains Solarwatt Managing Director Detlef Neuhaus.

For Solarwatt, the sale of the GHG certificates shows that services around the topics of photovoltaics, e-mobility and heat play an extremely important role for the Dresden-based company: "For us, it's simply part of making it as easy as possible for as many people as possible to drive the energy transition forward," emphasises Detlef Neuhaus.
