Emaldo has partnered with Eddy Grid to give its Dutch commercial battery customers access to energy trading and market optimisation, aimed squarely at one of the country's more persistent grid problems.
BMS innovation driving a $320 billion battery market
The Netherlands has some of the most congested grid infrastructure in Europe, a result of heavy renewable generation combined with rising electrification. That congestion has already pushed strong demand for commercial battery storage, as businesses look to manage their own energy use, extract more value from on-site solar and wind, and earn revenue by participating in electricity and flexibility markets.
Automated market access
Under the partnership, Emaldo's commercial battery customers gain access to Eddy Grid's optimisation platform, which trades battery capacity across the Day-Ahead, Intraday, Imbalance and aFRR markets, alongside ancillary services, automating the trading and the operational control. Eddy Grid specialises in these kinds of activities, combining energy supply, optimisation and balancing services to get more value out of battery, solar and wind assets.

"Commercial battery storage is becoming an increasingly important part of the Dutch energy transition, but customers need more than hardware to maximise its potential," said Alasadair Firth, Emaldo's Chief Product Officer. "By partnering with Eddy Grid, we're combining our battery systems with sophisticated market access and optimisation services to deliver a complete solution for commercial customers." (TF)
