Greece – Metlen and Karatzis partner on 790 MWh storage

Metlen and the Karatzis Group of Companies have established a new strategic partnership through a joint venture, holding 49 percent and 51 percent stakes respectively. The partnership will focus on the development, construction, operation and energy management of a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of 330 MW / 790 MWh in Thessaly, Greece.

The collaboration builds on the existing relationship between the two companies in the sale and integration of green energy. Since August 2024, they have jointly implemented a portfolio of solar power stations with a combined capacity of 262 MW in the same region.
