The solution is intended for grid operators and commercial and industrial customers across Europe. Exide states that its compact form factor provides high energy density within a small footprint. The liquid-cooled architecture and modular design allow for easy scalability and reliable operational safety. By using larger but fewer cells, the manufacturer aims to minimise failure rates and reduce operating costs.
The system achieves up to 95 percent efficiency, according to the company. A three-tier protection system and more than 300 safety tests are intended to further improve operational safety. Monitoring is managed by a battery management system (BMS), which allows for continuous analysis and control of system performance.
The control software was developed in the EU, and Exide states that all data is hosted within the European Union. Use cases include grid stabilisation, optimising self-consumption, microgrids, off-grid supply and energy trading. (nhp)
