Soltech Energy Solutions has signed a two-year operations and maintenance agreement with Danish energy company Copenhagen Energy, covering two battery parks near Copenhagen with a combined capacity of 132 MWh.

The assignment covers the Ringsted and Vemmelev battery parks, with Soltech taking on long-term responsibility for function, availability and technical performance through preventive maintenance, real-time monitoring and continuous optimisation. The agreement extends Soltech's Nordic footprint beyond Sweden and marks its first O&M contract in Denmark.
The case for storage
As across much of Europe, Denmark's expanding wind and solar capacity creates increasing variation in both output and electricity prices. Large-scale battery storage smooths those fluctuations by absorbing surplus electricity when production is high and returning it to the grid when demand rises. The battery parks in Denmark can now participate in ancillary service markets and electricity trading, giving them multiple revenue streams and a growing role in grid stability.

Copenhagen Energy CEO and co-founder Jasmin Bejdic says that Soltech's track record in Swedish BESS projects was the deciding factor. "We chose them as our partner for our first BESS project hanks to their solid expertise in the operation, monitoring and maintenance of battery storage." (TF)
