Aiko secures TÜV Süd explosion approval for ABC Stellar module

This opens the door to installations in high-risk industrial environments such as oil and gas facilities, chemical parks and filling stations. Until now, ATEX guidelines have severely restricted the deployment of solar systems in these zones, often creating conflicts with the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which calls for improved energy efficiency.

Aiko’s certified module integrates enhanced safety principles (Ex e) and complies with the GB 3836.3 standard. Key technical features include reinforced insulation, increased electrical creepage and clearance distances, and temperature monitoring to prevent sparking. Its specific cell architecture, based on copper interconnection technology, is designed to avoid microcrack risks associated with soldering processes and to ensure stable electrical connections. In addition, a built-in high-temperature limiting function further reduces hotspot risk and enhances operational safety. (nhp)
