Ernst Schweizer refines flat roof safety for large-format modules

The new MSP system is specifically engineered for photovoltaic modules with widths of up to 1,134 millimetres. A central support (SMH90) absorbs additional bending loads, which can occur with longer modules or under extreme weather conditions. A widened ridge gap improves aerodynamics and increases the overall stability of the system.

For sites exposed to strong winds, the system features a new ballast fixing solution. Pre-punched tabs enable precise positioning of ballast blocks in line with structural calculations, helping to prevent the blocks from shifting.

A key aim of the upgrade was to cut installation time and costs. A clip-in cable management system has been integrated directly into the supports, eliminating the need for additional tools. The new optimiser clamp can also be fitted tool-free. It replaces the previous small-part assembly and prevents drilling debris from accumulating on the roof surface. (nhp)
