Since the end of 2025, member states have been required to apply the Net-Zero Industry Act’s non-price criteria, including supply-chain resilience, to renewable energy auctions. Of the six that have started doing so for solar, Italy has gone furthest, awarding 1.1 GW under its FER-X auction. Austria, France, Ireland, Lithuania and Spain have each taken a different route. SolarPower Europe is calling for a Cleantech Manufacturing Bank and a central repository of national NZIA measures to make the rules more consistent across the EU. (hcn)
