Intersolar – AIKO raises the bar with 4th-generation ABC

AIKO is bringing its fourth-generation INFINITE ULTRA module to Intersolar Europe 2026, the latest step in a technology roadmap that has taken the company's ABC (All Back Contact) platform from 570W and 22.1% efficiency in 2022 to a notable 690W and 25.6% in the fourth generation today.

AIKO – INFINITE modules set new standards

The first-generation module introduced a full-light-receiving front surface and all-back-contact architecture; the second added high-resistivity, low-oxygen wafers and a 20-busbar cell design, lifting output to 640W and efficiency to 23.7%. The third generation, commercialised at scale in 2025, combined zero-busbar technology with AIKO's proprietary Full-Screen approach to reach 680W and above 25% efficiency. The INFINITE ULTRA improves on this by increasing cell performance and reducing non-active module areas, achieving higher power output within the same physical footprint.

ABC module shipments grew from around 700 MW in 2023 to 6.3 GW in 2024 and 14.7 GW in 2025, with the modules now distributed across 79 countries through 92 tier-one partners. In European residential solar, ABC has taken more than 21% market share; on the utility side, AIKO counts over 19 GW in project awards and partnerships with 25 major energy players. The company has held the top position in TaiyangNews's global mass-production module efficiency rankings for 39 consecutive months.

At 14.7 GW shipped in 2025 and a residential market share above 21% in Europe, BC technology has earned its place in the mainstream, and the efficiency trajectory suggests the gains are not yet finished. (TF)
