Microinverter integrated inside the module frame

Thanks to sophisticated high-frequency technology and consistent slimming down, the microinverter is integrated into the frame of commercially available photovoltaic modules. The metal frame serves as a cooling surface.

Solarnative's module dwarf actually fits into a narrow module frame of 32 millimetres. It weighs only 350 grams. The circuit board in the microinverter is floating, as is the device itself, so that no temperature stresses occur. The inverter also takes over the bypass diode of the cell strings in the module, thus simplifying the modules.

The small inverter is clocked at one megahertz. Communication in the module string runs at 600 kilohertz on the power line, so additional wiring for communication is not necessary. In the coming year, Solarnative wants to initially deliver 200,000 units of the Power Stick. (mfo)
