Sungrow scales up in Poland with major Goldbeck deal

Sungrow and Goldbeck Solar are expanding their strategic partnership with a new contract covering a 722 MW PV project in Poland and a framework agreement for the delivery of 1 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The official signing took place at Intersolar 2026 in Munich and underlines both partners' commitment to supporting the energy transition in one of Europe's most dynamic renewables markets.

Poland – Goldbeck Solar lands 722 MW EPC deal

The PV framework agreement covers the ground-mounted projects in Dobrowo, Kikowo and Sidlowo. Sungrow will supply its modular 1+X inverters for utility-scale plants alongside the SG6600UD-MV and SG8800UD-MV medium-voltage solutions.

Poland moves towards an integrated energy system

Poland's energy transition has reached a significant milestone: by the end of 2025, renewables accounted for more than half of the country's installed generation capacity. Installed solar capacity has now risen to almost 25 GW and has become one of the central pillars of the renewables build-out. Poland is shifting from simply adding renewable capacity to building systems that can produce and dispatch power according to demand. The 1 GWh BESS pipeline will now add flexibility to the grid, cut curtailment losses and strengthen the resilience of the power system. (hcn)
