Sud Renovables, part of the Swedish Soltech Group, is currently installing one of its largest projects to date. The large-scale solar energy system includes multiple types of installations on and around a logistics property in Amposta, Catalonia.
More than 8,400 panels with a total capacity of 4.7 MW are currently being installed on the property’s rooftops, in an adjacent ground-mounted solar park and on the roofs of the site’s parking areas. The panels over the parking spaces will supply electricity to employees’ electric vehicles via EV charging points also installed by the company.

Sud Renovables
“Sud Renovables is proud to support Saica with several innovative installations. In this project, we are making maximum use of the available space to install as many solar energy solutions as possible. The warehouse will soon be largely powered by solar energy, and the staff’s electric vehicles will be charged using sunlight,” says Alfred Puig, CEO of Sud Renovables.
Spanish solar on the rise
The Spanish solar energy market has been one of Europe’s fastest growing for several years. Alongside strong solar irradiation, a mix of supportive policy and high electricity prices has created attractive conditions for solar developers. The Spanish government is also targeting a substantial increase in the share of renewables, with solar’s contribution to the national energy mix rising from 10.1 percent to 14.6 percent in 2023 alone.
New incentives to promote clean-tech supply chain
“It feels both encouraging and important to see solar energy’s share of the Spanish energy mix increasing. As a company, we are well equipped to meet demand for all types of installations, whether on rooftops, façades, ground or water,” concludes Puig.
