The new arrester provides the power supply with integrated fuse as well as the space for additional applications and the termination point at the metre position. It thus fulfils the requirement of VDE-AR-N 4100 for power supply for the intelligent metering system from the NAR. It also meets the normative basic requirement for overvoltage protection according to DIN VDE 0100-443 as well as the lightning current discharge capacity for overhead line feeds.
