Polish Development Fund supports solar companies

During the Green Investment Forum organized recently in Warsaw by the Polish Development Fund (PFR), PFR highlighted its achievements in the context of the PFR Green Hub strategy, giving well-deserved recognition to its key partners, including R.Power, one of the largest Polish players in renewables market. Tomasz Sęk, a member of R.Power's board, emphasized the importance of collaboration with PFR and shared insights on the company's growth prospects.

"We take pride in being part of the energy transformation and making a significant contribution to the sustainable development of the European energy sector. With the support of institutions like PFR, we can maintain our position as a leading independent energy producer and renewables assets developer," summarized Sęk.

Different investment´partnerships

Last September the Polish solar project developer and independent power producer has issued PLN 120 million of green bonds to PFR Closed-end Investment Fund of Non-Public Assets (FIZAN). The solar developer has so far issued PLN 450 million under its green bond issuance programme of up to PLN 1 billion.

This participation follows a significant development earlier this year when R.Power partnered with the Luxembourg-based infrastructure investor, Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF). The partnership involved a substantial EUR 150 million (USD 160.4 million) equity investment with additional EUR 100 million financing extension, with 3SIIF acquiring a minority stake in R.Power.

Initiate solar projects in five European countries

Expressing his optimism about this collaboration, Tomasz Sęk stated, "Currently, we have over 700 MW of capacity built or under construction in Poland and Portugal. Recently we launched preparation for new capacity construction in another market - Romania. By the end of 2024, we will initiate projects in a total of five European countries. We are excited about our partnership with 3SIIF to expand our existing footprint and capabilities further." (hcn)
