Early demand has been robust, with Solaredge confirming thousands of pre-orders and the first operational units in European homes. The Smart Energy Management System automatically adjusts charging output to match solar surplus, and the wallbox supports both single-phase and three-phase operation, switching automatically as needed. Additional features include power output control, load management and scheduled charging based on time-of-use or dynamic electricity tariffs.
Weighing less than 2.5 kilograms, the device can be wall-mounted in under ten minutes. It offers both Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet connectivity. Homeowners can manage and monitor the charger via the mySolarEdge app.
The charging station features a new cable-locking system that secures the charging cable permanently to the unit, enhancing convenience and preventing cable theft. The wallbox is also prepared for bidirectional charging: once relevant standards are introduced, it will support vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid functions via software update. (nhp)
