Intersolar Europe and ees on growth course – exhibitors from 160 countries

Smart renewable energy and smart storage have been the top trends at Intersolar/ees 2016 Munich last week, what also became obvious at the pv Guided Tours for Experts. The exhibition space of ees Europe grew by 40 percent compared to the previous year, the number of exhibitors by 35 percent. 213 battery and energy storage manufacturers showcased their products. Together with Intersolar Europe 369 out of 1.077 exhibitors presented innovative energy storage solutions. The share of international companies was 60 percent. With 351 most exhibitors came from Germany. Net exhibiting space of Intersolar and ees 2016 grew by 8.4 percent compared to 2015.

Generation costs of 5-7 per kilowatt hour

Meanwhile photovoltaics is well on its way to become the most cost effective type of electricity generation: In many regions the generation costs of solar electricity has declined to five to seven percent per kilowatt hour. The dynamic development of storage technologies provides the necessary backbone for this energy transition. Storage costs for residential systems declined by 30 percent within the last two years. This became obvious in Munich last week. Intersolar Europe and its organizers without doubt are on the forefront of this revolutionary development since 25 years. Intersolar Europe 2017 will open its doors again in Munich from May 31 – June 2 2017. (HCN)
