Almost two years into the full-scale war, the small town of Bucha continues its recovery from the horrific events that captured global attention. Bucha Lyceum No. 3, situated at Vokzalna 46a and previously under occupation, has taken a step toward embodying principles of sustainable development. With its new solar PV system and energy storage, the school will provide children uninterrupted access to education during blackouts, reduce operational costs, and serve as a model for sustainability and resilience.
Hybrid solar station provided by Menlo Electric
Menlo Electric supplied the equipment for this hybrid solar station, including solar panels, inverters, and energy storage. The installation comprises 47 solar panels capable of generating 20 kW of power, paired with a 40 kWh energy storage system. This setup ensures the school's energy supply during outages and is expected to reduce energy costs by an estimated €2,100 annually. Beyond providing reliable power, the project includes an educational component on sustainable living, equipping Ukraine’s future leaders with the tools and knowledge to advance a greener future.
Oleksandr Piskun, General Manager of Menlo Electric in Ukraine: “As part of our 'Energy to Power Your Future' CSR program, we’re proud to supply all the needed equipment for a solar station in Bucha Lyceum No. 3, together with manufacturers Jinko Solar and Deye, bringing reliable energy solutions to educational institutions across Ukraine. It’s our fourth project with the Energy Act for Ukraine, and we are happy to ensure uninterrupted access to education and foster a culture of environmental consciousness among future generations.”
