Sungrow sharpens utility focus with PowerTitan 3.0

Aimed at operators of large-scale facilities, the system is housed in a 20-foot container and integrates an inverter rated at 1.78 MW with batteries providing 7.14 MWh of storage. In a four-hour configuration, a single block delivers 7.2 MW and 28.5 MWh.

The system uses stacked battery cells and, according to Sungrow, achieves a round-trip system efficiency of 92 percent. Thanks to its AC block design, it is delivered pre-installed, enabling self-configuration and testing within one hour.

Sungrow has also presented a platform architecture for DC-coupled photovoltaic storage solutions. The concept combines a modular 1+X inverter with storage interface, the PowerTitan 3.0 featuring an integrated DC-DC module, and a proprietary energy management system.

A central element is grid-forming capability. Core functions include voltage and frequency support, oscillation damping, gigawatt-scale black-start capability and support for system strength. (nhp)
