COMAX France, part of the Swiss energy company MET Group, has completed a 57 MW / 114 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio across ten sites connected to the French distribution network. The investment forms part of MET's broader strategy to support the European energy transition.
Tenfold growth needed in EU storage by 2030
The new capacity quadruples COMAX France's operational BESS footprint in the country, bringing the total to more than 86 MW / 143 MWh. Developed over the past three years, the project was delivered by Entech as EPC contractor, using CATL Pods and SMA inverters. Now fully operational, the assets will support further integration of renewables into the energy system, provide grid flexibility services and contribute to price stability for end consumers in the French power market.
