Solar power via PPA for UK brewery

Denmark-based European Energy has completed grid connection of the Marksbury solar farm in the UK. The newly built plant has a capacity of 20.89 MW and is expected to generate 22.3 GWh of renewable electricity each year.

The Marksbury solar farm, located in Somerset near Bath, includes designated areas for tree planting to support local biodiversity and wildlife.

10-year PPA

AlphaReal, a specialist real assets investment manager, acquired the solar farm in 2024, with European Energy retained as the project’s asset manager. The solar farm is bound to deliver its electricity to brewery Asahi UK through a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
