The modules generate electricity on both the front and rear sides, harnessing reflected light, which is expected to deliver additional yields especially in ground-mounted systems. The higher energy yield is intended to reduce the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) – a key metric for project developers.
For rooftop installations, Gokin Solar uses back-contact modules, with electrical contacts located on the rear side, eliminating visible busbars on the front. This increases the active cell area and results in a uniform black appearance. The modules are aimed at residential and commercial buildings, where both efficiency and visual integration are key considerations. (nhp)
