Fire resistance:

Module series certified with fire resistance class A

As part of the certification test, the solar modules were subjected to two special tests: One test assessed whether and to what extent any flames would spread under the influence of a heat source and wind on the top of the module and between the roof covering and the solar modules mounted on the roof.

In a second test, a block of wood placed on the module was ignited and tested to see whether this would lead to a fire or even burn through the module under the influence of wind.

Certainty for homeowners

The glass-glass modules fulfilled both tests without issue, which meant an upgrade from fire resistance class C to fire resistance class A. The manufacturer gives a performance and product warranty of up to 30 years.

The better the rating of modules in the fire resistance classes, the more certainty homeowners with roof installations have that the solar system is resistant in case of fire and does not represent an additional risk factor. (mfo)
