Viessmann’s Vitocal 250‑A heat pump has performed well in independent tests, earning an overall rating of 2.1 from Stiftung Warentest. Until now, its nominal output ranged from 2.6 to 9.7 kW at A‑7/W35 under EN 14511. New output sizes of 16 and 18.5 kW extend the range of both the Vitocal 250‑A and 252‑A models, enabling use in buildings with higher heating loads.
The Vitocal 250‑AH version is designed to supplement existing heating systems. With a flow temperature of up to 70 degrees Celsius, it is developed for modernisation projects. The heat pump covers the base load, while the boiler switches on only at very low temperatures. The hybrid system is compact and uses the natural refrigerant R290 (propane). (nhp)
