My-PV triples production space for solar electric heating systems

The manufacturer of solar-electric home technology My-PV has tripled its production space. This is because the company has moved into its second production building in Neuzeug, Upper Austria, not far from the existing company headquarters. This is My-PV's response to the rapid increase in demand for solar-electric heating systems since February 2022, with the company repeatedly setting new production records, especially in recent weeks.

By moving production to the new building, My-PV has been able to significantly expand its production area. In addition, there is an additional storage area for 150 pallet spaces. With the production expansion in the immediate vicinity of the previous company location, more space has been freed up for offices and common rooms.

My-PV has already planned for future expansion possibilities. The conceptual work for this will begin soon, and the main focus will be on additional production lines. The building is already prepared for this, so that My-PV can make use of this possibility at short notice. Practically fixed is the further expansion of the storage facilities by about 300 square metres.

Relocation without interrupting production

The company has invested a total of 500,000 euros in the expansion of the production area. The planning started - due to the enormous demand - already in April 2022. Construction started in January 2023 and the first part of production moved into the new building as early as May 2023. Since then, My-PV has been manufacturing the ELWA solar electric heating rod solutions and the AC THOR power controller as well as the AC THOR 9s at the new location. My-PV has also already started production of the new AC ELWA 2 in the new production facilities. The AC ELWA 2 will be completely located in the new premises by July 2023 with growing quantities. A major challenge was the relocation of the production lines, which My-PV handled completely within only three days without any production downtime.

Setting a high standard

When setting up the production lines and furnishing the new building, My-PV followed the high standard already implemented in the previous solar-electric company building. The aim was to create a comfortable working atmosphere for the production staff in the new production building as well, expressing a corresponding appreciation. Thus, just like in the new company building, many walls were clad in wood and every workplace was ergonomically furnished and equipped with height-adjustable work tables.

The new production facility is designed for up to 35 employees. In addition, another 18 office workplaces can be created. My-PV currently employs 20 people in production. By the end of the year, the number of employees will increase further. (su/mfo)
