North Macedonia offers strong growth potential for renewable energy. Favourable geography and climate support both solar and wind generation, while government initiatives provide an increasingly attractive framework for investors. By attracting national and international capital and expanding solar capacity, the country is aiming to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and meet ambitious renewable energy targets.
From niche to necessity – the PV-boom in Central and Eastern Europe
A new energy law adopted in May 2025 is expected to further accelerate the uptake of battery storage. State-led solar and wind projects, along with investments in grid infrastructure and storage, are now advancing at pace.
