Business is going better than expected for SMA in 2022

In addition, a so-called special effect in the lower double-digit million euro range from a real estate sale had a positive impact on the result in 2022. The new forecast envisages an operating result (Ebitda) of 60 euros to 75 million euros, previously the forecast was between ten and 60 million euros. For the operating result before interest and taxes (Ebit), the Executive Board expects a range of 22 to 37 million euros. Liquidity (net) is expected to increase by 15 to 190 million euros by the end of the year, according to the new board forecast.

Turnover in the current financial year will thus be between 975 and 1,050 million euros. "At the end of September, we have a product-related order backlog of more than 1.2 billion euros," reports SMA Managing Board spokesman Jürgen Reinert. For the coming months, SMA expects an increase in orders for large-scale systems, so that the manufacturer will probably be able to better utilise production in the course of the year so far.
