SolarEdge’s new inverter solution is designed for flexible use across a range of challenging PV applications. It supports small to medium-sized systems, including ground-mounted arrays on uneven terrain, floating solar installations and Agri-PV with trackers. Featuring module-level power electronics, the system is engineered to minimise shading losses – a common issue with bifacial and vertical solar modules – and help maximise energy yield.
The device was developed to increase energy production through 99% inverter efficiency, 200% DC oversizing and an integrated night PID rectifier. The design reportedly supports strings of up to 80 modules with reduced cabling. According to the manufacturer, this can lower balance of system costs by up to 50 percent. Pre-commissioning also enables early validation of components and cabling before AC connection. (nhp)
