Svensk Solenergi publishes guideline for safe PV installations

Solar PV is the power source that Swedes have the most positive attitude towards and in 2023 almost 100,000 PV systems are expected to be installed on Swedish roofs.

„Solar energy is the power source that can be expanded in the shortest time and can reduce electricity prices here and now. But it is important not to compromise on the safety and quality of installations," says Anna Werner, CEO of the Swedish Solar Energy Association.

More than 100.000 PV installations expected in 2023

In 2022, 55,000 photovoltaic systems were installed and in 2023 this figure could increase to over 100,000 installations, according to the estimates. In order to ensure that the installations of PV systems continue to take place safely and securely, Svensk Solenergi has produced a tip list for current and potential solar cell owners.

„Through the tip list, we want to make it easier for those interested in installing solar PV and also offer knowledge. Anyone who wants to contribute to increasing the amount of locally produced fossil-free electricity should easily be able to make safe and conscious choices," says Anna Werner.

Did you miss that? Safety issues of PV installers become more important

Since January 1, 2023, Svensk Solenergi has offered free certification of installers to employees of its members and requires all installation companies to have at least one certified installer. The industry association has also developed a new guideline for final documentation for solar cell installations for private individuals.

Highlight the installer competence through the certification

„Through the certification, we want to highlight the solar PV installers who can prove their competence in the various parts of the profession. A well-executed installation and a safe workplace must always be a matter of course," says Anna Werner.
