Electric mobility:

Storage integrated into new intelligent IT backend for electric mobility

This year, Stromnetz Hamburg will be the first in the world to integrate Intilion's battery storage systems into its intelligent IT backend for electric mobility, eRound. With eRound, charge point operators (CPOs) can give their customers access to an international charging network thanks to multiple roaming platforms. Municipalities can use the modular system to electrify neighbourhoods and taxi fleets, while fleet managers and bus operators can control their depots. In addition, eRound detects free parking spaces for electric vehicles, visualizes charging processes and reports malfunctions.

Catching power peaks, avoiding overloads

"In combination with Intilion's scalable electricity storage systems, eRound reduces peak loads and avoids grid expansion. Intelligent load and charging management is essential – especially for critical infrastructures and at locations where many neighbouring charging points are connected to one grid connection point", Alexander Hilbring, electromobility innovation manager at Stromnetz Hamburg, is convinced.

Stromnetz Hamburg has already set up an Intilion commercial storage system of the scalebloc type for load management at the company's own depot. The battery storage system will help to charge as many fleet and employee vehicles as possible while preventing the transformer from incurring an overload situation. Furthermore, other applications will be offered nationwide in the future.

Equipped for new business models

Thanks to the open interfaces, the Intilion platform can be very easily integrated into charging station management and adapted for new business models. "We place a lot of emphasis on maximum security and availability", explains Manuel Schmidt, business unit manager at Intilion GmbH. While the company's service contracts guarantee availability of up to 98 percent, Intilion protects its storage facilities from hacker attacks with secure communication links, industrial SIM cards, encrypted data streams and regular security checks.
